Laser Hair Removal
Laser Hair Removal Treatment Journey
Laser Hair Removal Journey
I’ve suffered from unwanted hair growth above my lip (mustache) for many years. It caused a lot of insecurities within me and jokes among other people. My hair growth was fast (I couldn’t get the hair on my head to grow as fast as my upper lip hair was growing). It was to the point I was going to get lip waxes every week, then to even purchase a wax kit for myself at home. I was spending well over $100 each month on waxes (monthly Brazilian waxes, paired with monthly eyebrow waxes, and then on to weekly lip waxes). After plenty of research and a free consultation paired with a free session, I decided to move forward with my laser hair removal journey. Best decision ever!
Keep reading, I hope to answer any questions you may have and explain a little of my process during my laser hair removal journey with Milan Laser.
What is Laser Hair Removal
Laser Hair Removal is the process of permanently yet gently removing hair. The laser targets the hair root without doing any damage or breaking to the skin. The root where the hair is grown is destroyed causing the hair not to be able to grow back
Cost
Laser Hair Removal is an investment. It takes time and money, however over time you realize how much money you save over your lifespan, and you get to see the results of the laser removal. My total was about $4,000 now before you completely run away let me explain how it worked out for me. Ally Lending offered a 0% APR for 36 months (3 years I paid mine off in about 2). So, my monthly payments came to around $96.00 a month and I just paid extra when I could. They also offer a significant discount if you're willing to pay for your treatment in full. Milan Laser offers frequent family and friends discounts so if you ever decide just say Arielle sent you. This comes with a lifetime guarantee for if or whenever hair decides to come back.
Locations
They have so many locations throughout the United States. I’m personally located in Northwest Philadelphia, and I have about 3 locations that are 20-40 minutes away. The convenient part about the multiple locations is if you are near one location and need an appointment, they will allow you to make an appointment at that location for treatment.
Timeframe
Laser hair removal is a process and to see results you must be committed. Typically, laser hair removal treatments are scheduled 6 weeks apart (sometimes 4 weeks for facial hair). You begin to see the results after about the 4th session. Depending on your hormones and hair texture will determine your number of sessions. 6 –10 sessions are about average if you’re consistent in your appointments.
In the beginning, I was going every 5-6 weeks (about 1 and a half months) as recommended. Then life happened and it became about every 90 days (about 3 months) while results never stopped it just means that additional sessions are required because of my inconsistencies.
I’m on 9th session now and the hair is almost nonexistent in the Brazilian area and about 70% gone on the upper lip area. Had I been more consistent I’m positive I’d be done with treatment by now.
Skin Tones Variations
As a woman of color my major concern was does it work on brown skin tones. This was one of my main concerns and the major reason it took so long to dive into this process. I had no issues, no redness after appointments, no scars, absolutely nothing after each session. I will say this if you have areas with blond hair unfortunately, they won’t perform the laser removal because they cannot guarantee results where blond hair is present due to its inability to be picked up on the laser machine.
Session Expectations
Come with the area of service shaved. The nurse may have to do a slight touch up but that is perfectly fine. Each session is about 15-30 maximum depending on the number of treatment areas you have. You’ll check in, someone will escort you to the service room where you will remove your clothing, and place a towel, along with some glasses. The nurse will come in verify your information, ask about your recent sun exposure, test shots will be done and then your session shots on your treatment area and you're done. You’ll go to the front desk, make your next appointment and continue your day.
Number of Treatments
The average number of treatments is usually between 8-12. However, this number varies based on several things, hair length, coarseness, area size, your consistency with keeping appointments, hormones, sun exposure to treatment areas, and other things that may vary from person to person.
Limitations
After an appointment, they ask that you not be directly in the sun and apply at least 50 SPF sunscreen every few hours.
Don’ts
You are not allowed to pluck or wax the areas between sessions. You can shave as much as you’d like, and they ask that before each session you come in completely shaved or to the best of your ability (Sometimes shaving the Brazilian area you may miss a few spots). Try your best not to have direct contact with the sun. They will NOT treat any tanned or sunburned areas for your safety.
Overall Experience Thoughts
I love the results of my Laser Hair Removal. I would do it repeatedly. I think it was well worth the investment and with the lifetime guarantee, I’ll save so much money. The process is so smooth and it’s little to no pain. The newer lasers are amazing with the cool air you barely feel anything. Me and my nurse just have a casual conversation and before I know it, we’re done. If you’ve been contemplating it go in for a free consultation and a free session to see if that’s something you’d want to do. The convenience of not having to schedule monthly waxes and not having to worry about shaving. Laser hair removal is well worth the commitment. If you decide to give it a try let me know how much you loved it.
Feel free to ask any questions about my experience or laser hair removal in general.
Dutch Wonderland: A Family Fun Experience
This year Dutch Wonderland celebrates its 60th birthday. So, last weekend, my family and I went to Dutch Wonderland to celebrate my niece’s 6th birthday. We had an absolute blast at the amusement park. We spent the whole day riding different rides, playing games, and eating pretzels, ice cream, and fries. The highlight of the day was definitely seeing all the children in our family from the ages 2- 10 have a blast together and enjoy the park. Overall, it was a perfect day of affordable family fun and we can't wait to return again soon. If you're looking for a fun activity with your little ones, visiting Dutch Wonderland Family Fun Amusement Park is worth considering.
We live in the northwest section of Philadelphia, PA and the ride was about an hour and 20 minutes. A straight drive. Dutch Wonderland is in Lancaster, PA which is also known as Amish Country so you’ll drive past a few farms and grasslands, yard sales, horses, and buggies sharing the road, it's a really interesting site. Helps you to be reminded of simple living.
This area has so much to do the cartoon network hotel with an indoor water park is directly next door, they have a campground if you and your family have an RV, the Tanger Premium Outlets are across the street, Golden Coral, Texas Roadhouse, IHOP, lots of local diners and so many more restaurants that are about 1-5 minutes away. After you tire the kids out at the park you have your choice of where to eat to end the night if you don’t take advantage of the eateries throughout the park.
Dutch Wonderland Park Details
Children 2 and under are free.
They have a really strict bag policy. Cooler bags can be an of 12 x 12, personal bags can be a maximum of 15 x 15, however, diaper bags are an exception. Bags are checked at the door and a ruler is used to measure size.
They have 19 different food, drink, and dessert eateries throughout the park including Auntie Anne’s, Rita’s Water Ice, Nathan’s Famous, an all-you-can-eat pizza and pasta buffet, and so much more.
Duke’s Lagoon is a Water Play Area, they have a number of slides, water play activities and water fountains for the children to run through it’s a fun area but please note there is no pool. There is also a water slide or I’d like to call a sprinkle slide called The Pipeline Plunge because it doesn’t soak you so if you want to just ride without being soaked this is for you.
Ample restroom locations throughout the parks.
Nursing Mother’s Station
The rides are structured by gems which are based on height, they allow riders under 30” on a number of rides throughout the park.
3 Entertainment Theaters that produce multiple shows a day.
33 rides throughout the entire park.
Rain Guarantee- if it rains for more the (1) hour consecutively causing some ride closures, you have the opportunity to ask guest services for a single day admission per ticket for another day during that current season. (Ticket stub paper or email is needed to verify).
A variety of seating areas, picnic tables, benches, and chairs to sit throughout your time at the park.
Wheelchair and stroller rentals are available on-site.
Things you should know
Tickets are cheaper online so buy them ahead of time, and look for a special on two or more tickets. If you plan to go more than once the season pass is worth it.
They offer discounts for Military and First Responders.
They are cashless make sure you have a working debit or credit card or you can use a kiosk to transfer money to a prepaid card at a small cost.
Plan ahead the cartoon network hotel tends to sell out. There are several other hotels within a 2-minute radius.
You can re-enter the park as long as you get your hand stamped.
They offer preferred parking right next to the entrance for an additional $5.00 it’s worth it.
Bring towels for the water play area.
Sunscreen is important
Even in the heat, with the uncertainty of the weather, my first visit to Dutch Wonderland was a fun experience. From the variety of rides for all ages to the layout of the park. I was impressed by the park's cleanliness and the friendly staff who went out of their way to ensure that my family and I had a good time. If you're looking for a fun-filled day with family or friends, especially children 2-8, I highly recommend visiting this amusement park. It's truly a place where memories are made.
Plan ahead, arrive early, and enjoy all the rides, shows, and play that Dutch Wonderland has to offer.

Party Planning Guide: The Ultimate Checklist For Your Next Event
Planning a party/event can be STRESSFUL! Recently I planned my 30th birthday party (brunch/day party). Planning a party can be an event in itself. While I had the absolute best time, that didn’t come without some stress. So I’m here to supply you with a simple planning guide to help your next event go off without a hitch.
Let’s get started……….Once you’ve established you are having an event the first thing to do is establish a date. This is important because it helps to wean out venue selections. Now if you are open to various dates that gives you more options. Date Set? Now it’s time to seek out venues, pricing, and timing. Contact potential venues for a walk-thru and ask all the possible questions about your event or what you are looking for in the potential space. Keep reading and I will provide you with some sample questions to ask your venue host during the viewing that will aid in your planning proceess.
Questions to ask the venue
What is the seating and standing capacity?
Are tables and chairs provided? If so ask to see the chairs. (Regular folding chairs may disrupt your decor vision so be mindful)
How many tables/chairs can be provided?
Can you bring in your own food/ provide your own caterer? (sometimes places have in-house catering you have to use)
Is alcohol permitted?
Is smoking permitted?
Are candles/sparklers allowed?
Are there any noise level restrictions?
How much time is given for setup?
How much time is given to clean up?
How much per additional hour?
Is there parking? (Street parking, Parking lot, valet, metered parking)
Depending on how far out you planning the event, you may need to combine some things. This breaks things down into monthly tasks. If you are doing this in a short span of time it’s definitely feasible don’t panic. I planned my party out in about a month.

5 Things to start the year off right!
Happy New Year!
Another year is another chance for you to prosper! New year, new beginnings. Keep reading to learn about the 5 things that will help you kickstart the year to have the best year yet.
Saving Tips for the Holiday Season!
Looking for ways to save money this holiday season. Keep reading for the 4 ways that help me each year. But first remember not to go overboard, stay within your budget, use loyalty points, and shop the SALES!!!
1. Create a Holiday Budget
Creating a holiday budget helps you to stay on track with your spending. Allocate funds from your check each month to a holiday savings account. Purchase all your gifts only with your saved money in this account. This will help you stay on budget and not scramble for the money when you need it. I use a PayPal savings account that takes $35 from each pay and puts it in a holiday fund. And the icing on the cake is the APY is 3.25% so I’m actually making a tiny bit of money while my funds just sit there waiting for me to use them. If you need an online savings account or a secure payment center I highly suggest PayPal (PayPal Referral Link). If you open an account and spend your first $5 you’ll end up making $10 for being a newly referred member.
2. Cash Back Rewards
Do you have a credit card that you use? Does it have Cash back rewards? If not keep reading I have a referral link for you that gives up to 5% cashback and if you make a purchase in the first 3 months, you’ll receive a $100 statement credit (free money). If you pay with your credit card, as soon as the payment post you should pay off the balance immediately if that strategy helps you stay in control of your spending. For some cards, each month is a different bonus category. For instance, this month on my Discover card I get 5% cash back on all my Amazon purchases and anytime I use my Digital Wallet (Tap to Pay). (Discover Cashback Rewards Card Referral)
3. Rakuten
If you are an online shopper like me, you should definitely use Rakuten. They literally pay you to shop through their site. With different merchants offering anywhere from 1% to 20% cash back it’s the best. The thing that’s even better is you can still use a coupon code it’s like a double dip for saving money. For the holidays, I usually receive cashback for over $100 just from my online purchases for my family and friends. Use my referral code below and they’ll give you $40.00 for making your first purchase of $40.00 through the sit! (Rakuten Cash Back Shopping Rewards Referral)
4. Shopping Cart Abandonment
When you shop online most retailers want you to go through and purchase the items in your cart. So, with that logic, some retailers will make a second attempt at a sale when you leave items in your cart. Within 24-48 hours you can usually expect an email asking if you’re still shopping. The merchant will send you a coupon code via email of anywhere from 5-20% for you to return and purchase your items. Be strategic, if it’s a great deal go ahead and purchase, but if you can wait, let it sit in your cart overnight and see if you get a coupon code in your email. I do this a lot when I’m shopping with Fashion Nova.
I hope these tips will help you to stay on target this Holiday Season. In what ways are you staying on budget?
